This Privacy Policy explains how Pivot ("the app," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects your information. Pivot is developed and operated by Apex Studios App. By using Pivot, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and Google account identifier. We use this to create and manage your Pivot account.
• Content you create. Calendar events, tasks, notes, and routines you create in the app, including titles, dates, times, priorities, checklist items, and note content.
• Links between your content. When you connect a note to a task or event, we store that connection so you can navigate between them.
• Subscription status. Your current subscription plan (monthly or annual) and billing cycle.
• Appearance preference. Your selected theme (Light, Dark, Sandy, Rustic, or Iron) is saved to your account so it syncs across sessions.
• Voice input. When you use voice dictation, audio is processed by your device's built-in speech recognition (provided by Google/Android). We store only the resulting text as part of your note. We do not store audio recordings.
• Images you import. When you use screenshot import, the image is processed on your device to extract text. We store only the extracted text as part of your note. Images are not uploaded to our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide the app's core features: calendar, tasks, notes, routines, reminders, and scheduling, including automatic detection of dates and recurring patterns.
• To sync your data across sessions and devices via your account.
• To manage your subscription and provide access to the app's features.
• To send you local device notifications (reminders) that you request.
• To let you export your data to a file, or import a previously exported file back into your account.
• To display a summary of today's events and tasks on your home screen widget, if you add one.

3. Where Your Data Is Stored

Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore), a secure cloud service operated by Google. Data is protected by authentication rules: only your signed-in account can read or write your data through the app. Learn more about Firebase security at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

4. Data Access by Administrators

Like most cloud-based apps, Pivot's backend infrastructure means authorized administrators (the developer) could technically access stored data for legitimate purposes such as troubleshooting, security investigations, or responding to a support request you've submitted. We do not routinely view your content, and we never access, use, or share it for advertising or profiling purposes.

5. Home Screen Widget

If you add the Pivot widget to your home screen, a summary of today's events and tasks is cached locally on your device to display it. This local cache is separate from Firestore and is only accessible on your own device. Anyone with access to your unlocked device (or lock screen, depending on your device settings) may be able to see this summary without opening the app.

6. Exporting and Importing Your Data

You may export your events, tasks, and notes as a file (JSON or CSV) at any time from the Account tab. Exported files are saved to your device and shared using your device's standard share options — we do not receive a copy. You may import a previously exported file to add its contents back into your account.

7. What We Do NOT Do

• We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
• We do not share your data with third-party advertisers.
• We do not read your email. Pivot does not access your email inbox.
• We do not upload your voice recordings or imported images to our servers.

8. Payments

Subscriptions are processed by Google Play Billing. We do not collect, see, or store your payment card details. Billing, refunds, and cancellation are handled through your Google Play account.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained while your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the Account tab inside the app. Deleting your account permanently removes your events, tasks, notes, routines, and profile from our systems. This action cannot be undone.

10. Children's Privacy

Pivot is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

We use industry-standard protections including Google authentication and Firestore security rules that restrict data access to the account owner. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date on this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
